The amnion of mammalian embryo is derived from ectoderm and mesoderm.  

In mammals, it is a membrane that makes a sac like structure carrying a fluid called amniotic fluid. This water filled sac protects the baby from mechanical injuries. The amnion also provides protection against fluid loss and also protect from tissue adhesion.
