Answer:

18 : 42 : 35

18x + 42x + 35x => 95x

95x = 33630

x = 354

∴ Money received by B = 42x = 42×354=Rs.14868

Note: To save time check unit digit for example 42×354 = unit digit is 2×4=8

Concept:

The ratio is the comparison of two numbers to know how much the number contains the other number.

Given:

Total amount = 950

Ratio of A and B = 3 : 7

Ratio of B and C = 6 : 5

Find:

We are asked to find out the amount of money received by B.

Solution:

We have,

Total amount = 950

Ratio of A and B = 3 : 7

Ratio of B and C = 6 : 5,

So,

First make the ratio common for all, by multiplying by 7 in ratio of B and C and by multiplying by 6 in ratio of A and B,

We get,

Ratio of A and B = 18 : 42

Ratio of B and C = 42 : 35,

i.e.

A : B : C = 18 : 42 : 35

So,

Let,

Amount of A = 18x

Amount of B = 42x

Amount of C = 35x

NOw,

According to the question,

Total amount = 950

⇒ 18x + 42x + 35x = 950

95x = 950

x = 10,

So, the amount recevied by B = 42x = 42 × 10 = 420

Hence we can say that the amount received by B  is 4220.
