The amount of mixture required to make one biscuit is 18 cu.cm. Before it is cooked, the mixture is rolled into a sphere. After a biscuit is cooked , the biscuit becomes a cylinder of radius 3cm and height 0.7cm (The increase in volume is due to air being trapped in the biscuit).Biscuits are packed in a cylindrical card box of height 14cm .The arrangement of biscuits is shown below. On the basis of the above information, answer the following question . How many biscuits will be there in a box?

*CORRECT QUESTION

The amount of mixture required to make one biscuit is 18 cu.cm. Before it is cooked, the mixture is rolled into a sphere. After a biscuit is cooked , the biscuit becomes a cylinder of radius 3cm and height 0.7cm (The increase in volume is due to air being trapped in the biscuit).Biscuits are packed in a cylindrical card box of height 14cm .The arrangement of biscuits is shown below. On the basis of the above information, answer the following question . How many biscuits will be there in a box?

(a) 120 (b) 70

(c) 140 (d) 60

ANSWER

Hence, The answer is Option (c) 140 biscuits.

GIVEN

Amount of mixture required = 18 cu.cm

Height of cooked biscuit = 0.7cm

Radius of cooked biscuit = 3cm

Height of box = 14cm

TO FIND

How many biscuits will be there in a box?

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

We are given,

Height of cooked biscuit = 0.7cm

Radius of cooked biscuit = 3cm

Height of box = 14cm

Number of biscuits arranged in a layer = 7 cm

Height of 1 cooked biscuit = 0.7 cm

Number of layer in a box = Height of box/Height of Biscuit.

= 14/0.7 = 20

Number of biscuits in 20 layers = 7 × 20 = 140 biscuits.

Hence, The answer is 140 biscuits.

140 biscuits will be there in the box.

GIVEN

Amount of mixture required = 18 cu.cm

Height of cooked biscuit = 0.7cm

Radius of cooked biscuit = 3cm

Height of box = 14cm

TO FIND

Number of biscuits in the box.

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

Given,

Height of cooked biscuit = 0.7cm

Radius of cooked biscuit = 3cm

Height of box = 14cm

Number of biscuits arranged in a layer = 7 cm

Height of 1 cooked biscuit = 0.7 cm

Number of layer in a box =\frac{ Height of box}{Height of Biscuit}.

                                          = \frac{14}{0.7} = 20

Number of biscuits in 20 layers = 7 × 20 = 140 biscuits.

Hence, The answer is 140 biscuits.
