The amount of water to be added to 100 c.c. of 1 normal HCl solution to make it decinormal is - 900 c.c.​

Answer:

Upon adding 999 ml. Of NaCl, the final Volume of the diluted HCl solution will be 1000 ml

So the normality of the final solution =

1000 X N =1 X 0.1

N =0.1 X 1/1000

=0.0001 = 1 X 10–4

pH =-log(1 X 10–4) =4

So pH of the final solution will be 4

Since NaCl is neutral, it's addition will be just like adding neutral water
