Explanation:

Given The amplitude and time period in a s.h.m is 0.5  cm and 0.4sec respectively. If the initial phase is π/2 radian, then the equation of S. h.M will be

  • We know that x = a sin (ωt + φ) so φ is the phase difference.
  • At t=0, it will be π/2
  • So x = 0.5 sin (2π/0.4 x t + φ)
  • Now x = 0.5 sin (5π x t + π/2)
  • Sin (π/2 + θ) will be positive
  • Now x = 0.5 sin (5πt + π/2)

So x = 0.5 cos 5 π t
