The techniques used for water harvesting are practiced till now. One example is collecting roof top water which started in 1920s and is still practiced today. Galvanised roof like structures are made near the ground surface and water is used for agricultural practices. Also in the ancient times the hills were cleared of vegetation and maximum water was allowed to run off and this water channeled in ditches to provide water for agriculture.
