Let BC be x metre and AB be v meter. 

In ΔADB.

tan 60∘=ABBD

3=y20+x

In ΔABC

tan 30∘=ABBC

31=yx

y=x3

Putting the value of r in equation (1)

3=x320+x

3x = 20 + x

2x = 20 ⇒ x = 10 m

Height of the tree 20 + 10 = 30 m.

Distance between point and foot of the tree

= 330=103 m
