Given :-

  • The foot of the ladder is 4.6 m away from the wall.
  • The angle of elevation of a ladder leaning against a wall is 60°.

To find :-

  • The length of the ladder

Solution :-

Let AB represent the length of ladder.

So In right triangle ABC

\large\bold\red{cos60 =  \frac{AC}{AB} }

 \large\bold\red{ \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{4.6}{AB} }

 \large\bold\red{AB = 9.2 \: m}

 \large\bold\red{The \:  length  \: of  \: the  \: ladder \: is \: 9.2 \: m}
