Question

The angle of elevation of the top of a vertical tower from two points distant a and b from the base and in the same line with it are complementary prove that the height of the tower is root ab if a=18m b= 32 m then what will be the height of tower

Answer

ha=tanθ⇒h=atanθ……..(i)

hb=tan(90∘−θ)=cotθ

⇒h=bcotθ……….(ii)

From (i) and (ii), we get

h2=ab and hence h=ab−−√.

Hope it Helps!
