The angle of elevation of the top of the building A from the base of building B has measure 50. The angle of elevation of the top of the building B from the base of building A has measure 70. Then, ......,select a proper option (a), (b), (c) or (d) from given options so that the statement becomes correct.
(a) building A is taller than building B.
(b) Building B is taller than building A.
(c) Building A and building B are equally tall.

From the given data ;

Height of the building A = AD

angle elevation of building A from

base of building B = <ABD = 50°

Height of the building B = BC

angle of elevation of building B from

base of building A = <CAB = 70°

angle CAB > angle ABD

Side opposite to bigger

angle is taller.

Therefore ,

building B is taller than A .

option ( b ) is correct.

I hope this helps you.

Option B is correct.

In situation given in the above question

Draw daigram as shown in attachement.

then apply relation of height and base with tanα and tanβ

Where, α and β is the angle of elevation .

Then base is common in both situation hence only angle is varying.

We know tanx is increasing function hence tanβ>tanα.

So option b is correct.
