Apartheid was a political system in South Africa in which white people discriminated against black people. This racial domination against the dark-skinned people was very cruel, harsh, and inhumane.
The black people were not allowed to use roads, schools, hospitals, vehicles, etc. that the white people used. Nelson Mandela raised his voice against this discrimination. As he grew young he felt the injustice of apartheid. He realized his people were discriminated on the basis of color. They were deprived of the common privileges. That is when he joined the African National Congress, and that is when the hunger for his own freedom became the greater hunger for the freedom of his people. It was this desire for the freedom that transformed him into a bold one that drove him to become a criminal, a rebel.
After a long struggle, finally on May 10, 1994 this cruel regime came to an end, when Nelson Mandela was sworn in as the President of South Africa.
