Heya..

Yes it was...In southern Africa..the mojority were Whites...n they ised to rule the country...the apartheid system was so offensive that the blacks had no use to live in the country..they were blocked from doing all the work which might have bought them a diiference to their life...the whites were so cruel that they didnt even gave them a chance to prove themselves...
It was Ghandiji..who gave them a suuport..spoke against them...made his life in dangerou..so as to make the life for the blacks perfect..
South Africa first president Nelson Mandela...gave his life for his country to fight against apartheid....for which he survived in jail...getting back from jail...He was honoured the PRESIDENT OF AFRICA...

The apartheid system was particularly oppressive for the blacks in the following ways -:

1) The blacks were forbidden from living in white areas. They could work in the white areas only if they had a permit.

2) Trains, buses, taxis, hotels, hospitals, schools and colleges, libraries, cinema halls, theaters, beaches, swimming pools, public toilets, were all separate for the whites and blacks.

3) The blacks could not visit churches where the whites worshipped.

4) They could not form associations or protest against the terrible system of apartheid.
