We are now witnessing a surge of interesting research in the mathematical analysis of physiological systems, and this book is easily the best of several published in the last year or so that attempt to review the mathematical foundations and principal physiological results for the interested biologist and physician.
Despite some unevenness in style which makes this book less clear than it might otherwise be, the author succeeds remarkably well in introducing the essential elements of linear control systems theory to the reader with a background of elementary calculus.
