The Indian subcontinent or thesubcontinent is a southern region of Asia, mostly situated on the Indian Plate and projecting southwards into the Indian Ocean from the Himalayas.

"Hindu"

The name of our country is derived from the word 'Sindhu', which is due to the Harrappan and Sindhu civilization of our country. These civilizations were one of the early civilizations plus they were the important sites of trading for the middle east traders and travellers.

When arabs came to India, they gave the name of Sindhu to our country. As they couldn't pronounce the word 's' efficiently and pronounced it as 'h'instead, so, 'Sindhu' became 'Hindu'.
