the area a rhomus is 24cm2and its perimeter is 20 cm.what is its height?

Solution

Area of rhombus= 1/2*diagonals*diagonals (half of the product of diagonals)

the side of a rhombus is 5 cm and each of these are actually a hypotenuse of triangles that are made by diagonals.

side of triangle along with hypotenuse of 5 is 3 and 4

a=one diagonal= 6cm.

b=second diagonal = 8cm,

1/2*a*b

1/2*6*8

=24 square cm

therefore area is 24 square cm

base=5cm

area=24 sq cm

h=area/base

h=height=24/5

h=4.8 cm
