Given

  • Area = 616 cm²

To find

  • Diameter

Solution

The area of a circle → 616 cm²

Therefore , πr² = 616 cm²

→ 22/7 r² = 616 cm²

→ r² = 616 × 7 / 22

→ r² = 28 × 7

Since , r² = 196

→ r = √ 196

→ r = 14 cm

Therefore , Diameter = 2r = 2 × 14 cm

= 28 cm

More to know :

Circle is a curved shape with 0 number of vertices and edges !!

➺ Area : π × ( radius )²

➺ Circumference : 2π x radius

➺ Diameter : 2 x radius

➺ Number of vertices : 0

➺ Number of edges : 0

Explanation:

Given :

Area of a circle :616cm^2

To find :

Diameter

\bold{\boxed{Area \: of \: a \: Circle = \pi {r}^{2} }}

 =  > \pi {r}^{2}  = 616

 \frac{22}{7}  {r}^{2}  = 616

 =  >  {r}^{2}  = 616 \times  \frac{7}{22}

 =  >  {r}^{2}  = 308 \times  \frac{7}{11}  = 28 \times 7

 =  >  {r}^{2}  = 196

 =  > r =  \sqrt{196}  = 14cm

Radius of a circle is 14cm

We know that diameter is twice of radius or radius is half of diameter.

\bold{\boxed{\boxed{D= 2r = 2 \times 14 cm= 28cm}}}

Additional information:

  1. Two circle are congruent if they have same radii
  2. The distance of circle from the center to the diameter is 0
  3. There can be drawn infinite number of arc and radius on a circle.
  4. Two tangent are parallel if are drawn with end point of diameter.see 2nd image figure PQ|| RS
