Let , the width be x,
therefore, the length = 2x -8
Given, area of the rectangle = 120cm^2.
Now,
(2x -8 ) × x = 120
=> 2x^2 -8x = 120
=> 2x^2 -8x -120 = 0
=> 2x^2 +6x -15x -120 = 0
=> 2x(x + 3) - 15 ( x+ 6) = 0
