the area of a square is 36cm square if the side of the square is doubled what is the ratio of the area of the original square to that of new square formed

If the side of the square is double
then, the area will be=144cm^2

then, their ratio will be =36:144=1:4

here's ur answer....

area of square=36cm²

side×side=36cm²

side²=36cm²

side=√36

side=6cm

if the side the square is doubled then the side will be=6×2=12cm

area of square (side=12cm)=side×side

=12×12

=144cm²

ratio:-

144:36

4:1
