GIVEN:

Area of a square = 64 cm

TO FIND:

Perimeter of the square

SOLUTION:

Let length of one side of the square be 'a'

Area of a square = Side × Side = a × a

==> Area = a²

==> 64 = a² [Given, Area = 64 cm]

==> a = √64

==> a = 8

∴ Length of 1 side of the square is 8 cm

Perimeter of a square = 4 × Side

= 4 × 8

= 32

∴ Perimeter of the square is 32 cm
