Question : The area of a square is given by 9x² + 54xy + 81y. Find the side of the square.

Solution : Area of the Square =

9x² + 54xy + 81y

we know that Area of square is =

side × side

By simplifying we get = 9x² + 54xy + 81y

= (3)x² + 54xy + 81y

= (3)x² + 6x × 9y × 2/2 + (9)x²

= (3x + 9y)² ( a+b² = a² + b² + 2ab )

Therefore, side of the square =

(3x + 9y)²
