GIVEN:

Area of a square is same as that of a rectangle.

The side of the square = 12cm

Width of the rectangle = 9cm

TO FIND:

Length of the rectangle.

SOLUTION:

We know that,

Area of a square = side²

Area of a rectangle = length × breadth

According to the question,

Area of square = area of rectangle

Side × side = length × breadth

=> 12 × 12 = length × 9

=> 144 = length × 9

=> Length = 144/9

=> Length = 16cm

Therefore, the length of rectangle is 16cm.
