Area of trapezium = 0.55 m^2

Altitude of trapezium = 11 cm = 0.11 m

Equation to find area of a trapezium = 1/2 * (a + b) * h

                                                             = 1/2 * ( x ) * h (x is the sum of its parallel                            sides)

                                                                1/2 * x * 0.11 = 0.55 m^2

                                                                x/2  = 0.55/0.11

                                                                x/2 = 5

                                                                x = 5 * 2

                                                                x = 10 m

Therefore the sum of the parallel sides is 10 m
