The area of a trapezium is 1588 cm² and
the distance between the parallel sides is
26 cm. If one of the parallele sides is 38 cm
find the other.​

Let the first side be x.

Second side= b =38 cm

Height=26 cm

Area of trapezium=1588 cm^2

⇒ Area of trapezium= 1/2 × (x+b) × h

⇒ 1588= 1/2 × (x+38) × 26

⇒ 1588= 13 × (x+38)

⇒ 1588/13= x+38

⇒ x= 122.15−38

⇒x=84.15
