let the one side be x
other side =x+8
area of trapezium=1/2× (sum of || sides)×height
Area=1/2×(x+x+8)×9
198=1/2×2(x+4)×9
198/9=x+4
22=x+4
x=22-4
x=18
and other side =x+8
=18+8
=26

the area of trapezium is equal to -
1/2×(sum of parallel sides)×h
the area is given =(198)
one side is longer than other by 8
means (x,x+8) are parallel sides and h=9cm
198=1/2×(x+x+8)×9
198=1/2×2(x+4)×9
198=(x+4)×9
198=9x+36
9x=198-36
9x=162
x=162/9=18
the parallel sides are, x=18,x+1=18+1=19
