Answer:

Length of parallel sides = 33 cm, 29 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a trapezium = ½h(a+b), where h=height=8 cm, a and b the length of parallel sides

Here,

½h(a+b) = 248 cm²

h(a+b) = 248 × 2 = 496

a+b = 496/8 = 62

Let's take the length of the longer parallel side = x

Llength of the smaller parallel side = x-4

a+b = x+x-4 = 62

2x-4 = 62

2x = 62 + 4 = 66

x = 66/2 = 33

x-4 = 33 - 4 = 29

Length of a = 33 cm

Length of b = 29 cm
