iamaryanag: first you have been given the area to be equal to 300. by the formula you know that area=sum of parallel sides*distance between them. therefore 300=sum of parallels*15 that gives you sum of parallels to be equal to 300/15=20.let small side be y and greater side be x. Now using simultaneous equations, x+y=20 and x-y=16, add both the equations you get 2x=36, x=18 and now if x=18, y=2. Hope this helps!!
