Answer:

Other parallel side is 7 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

  • Area of trapezium is 34 cm².
  • Length of one parallel side is 10 cm.
  • Height of trapezium is 4 cm.

To find :-

  • Length of other parallel side.

Solution :-

We know,

Area of trapezium = (a + b)/2 × h

[a and b are parallel sides and h is height of trapezium]

Put values in formula :

⇒34 = (10 + b)/2 × 4

⇒34/4 = 10 + b/2

⇒8.5 = 10 + b/2

⇒8.5 × 2 = 10 + b

⇒17 = 10 + b

⇒17 - 10 = b

b = 7

Therefore,

Other parallel side is 7 cm.

Area = 34 cm^2

One parallel side = 10 cm

Height = 4 cm.

We know,

Area of trapezium = (sum of parallel sides)/2 × height

Let, second parallel side = x

=> 10 + x/2 × 4 = 34

=> (10 + x)×4 = 34 × 2

=> (10 + x) ×4 = 68

=> 10 + x = 68/4

=> 10 + x = 17

=> x = 17-10

=> x = 7

Other parallel side is 7 cm
