the area of a Trapezium is 352cms1uare square and the distance between its parallel sides is 16 cm if one of the parallel sides it's of length 25 cm find the length of the other ?

Distance between parallel sides (altitude)= 16 cm

Lengh of one side = 25 cm

Length of second side = ??

Area of trapezium = 1÷2 × ( sum of parallel sides)×altitude

1÷2 × (25+?) × 16 = 352 cm

25+? = 352×2÷16

25+? = 44

?? = 44-25

?? = 19 cm

So the length of other side is equal to 19 cm..

Then, area of the trapezium=

$\frac{1}{2} \times (25 + x) \times 16 \: cm {}^{2}$

$(200 \times + 8x) \: cm {}^{2}$

But, the area of trapezium=

$352 \: cm {}^{2} (given)$

200 +8x= 352 => 19
