The area of a Trapezium is 475 CM square and the height is 19 cm. Find its length of its parallel sides if one side is 4 cm greater than the other side.

then length of Larger parallel side=( x+ 4) cm,

So, Area of trapezium= 1/2(sum of parallel side)* Height,

=> 475= 1/2 (x+ x+4)*19,

=> 475 = (x+2)*19,

=> 25= x+2,

=> x= 23 cm,

so, smaller parallel side= 23 cm,

Now, largest parallel side= 23+4= 27cm.
