Area =1/2 base × altitude
18=1/2 ×x× 6
18/3 =x
6 = base

In general area of traingle = 1/2 * Altitude * Base,

Given that, Area = 18x², and Altitude = 6x,

Substitute those values in above formula,

=> 18x² = 1/2*6x* Base,
=> 36x² = 6x * Base,
=> 6 = Base, As you didn't give units, I am not writing it !,

So the base = 6 ,

Hope you understand, Have a great day !!
