Given :

  • Area of right angled triangle = 60 cm²
  • Length of perpendicular side = 8 cm

To find :

  • Length of other side
  • According to the question,

Let the base be b

➞ Area of right angled triangle = ½ × base × perpendicular

➞ 60 cm² = ½ × b × 8 cm

➞ 60 cm² = b × 4 cm

➞ 60 cm² ÷ 4 cm = b

➞ 15 cm = b

So, the base of right angled triangle is 15 cm.

★ Verification :

We have,

  • Base = 15 cm
  • Perpendicular side = 8 cm

➞ Area of right angled triangle = ½ × base × perpendicular

➞ Area of right angled triangle = ½ × 15 cm × 8 cm

➞ Area of right angled triangle = 15 cm × 4 cm

➞ Area of right angled triangle = 60 cm²

So, the area of the right angled triangle is 60 cm².

Hence, it is verified.
