\large\sf\underline{Correct\:Question\::}

  • The area of a triangle is 90 sq. cm . If its base is 20 cm long , find the measure of its corresponding altitude ( height ) .

\large\sf\underline{Given\::}

  • Area of triangle = 90 sq.cm.

  • Base of triangle = 20 cm.

\large\sf\underline{To\:find\::}

  • Height or altitude of the triangle.

\large\sf\underline{Solution\::}

We know ,

\small{\underline{\boxed{\mathrm\pink{Area\:of\:∆\:=\:\frac{1}{2} \times base \times height}}}}

  • Let's substitute the given values in the formula

\sf\implies\:90\:=\:\frac{1}{2} \times 20 \times h

\sf\implies\:90\:=\:\frac{20}{2} \times h

\sf\implies\:90\:=\:\frac{20h}{2}

  • Cross multiplying

\sf\implies\:20h\:=\:90 \times 2

\sf\implies\:20h\:=\:180

  • Transposing 20 to the other side

\sf\implies\:h\:=\:\frac{18\cancel{0}}{2\cancel{0}}

\sf\implies\:h\:=\:\cancel{\frac{18}{2}}

\large{\mathfrak\red{\implies\:h\:=\:9\:cm}}

\dag\:\underline{\sf So\:altitude\:of\:∆\:is\:9\:cm.}

!! Hope it helps !!
