Given that altitude of the triangle = 28cm.

We know that Area of triangle = 1/2 &times base &times altitude

= 1/2 &times x &times 28. ------- (1)

Given that area of square measures = 35cm.

We know that Area of square = s^2

= 35 \pink&times 35

\red{= 1225cm^2}

Given that Area of square = Area of triangle

1225 = \frac{1}{2} &times x &times28

1225 &times 2 = x &times 28

2450 = x &times 28

x = \frac{2450}{28}

x = 87.5 cm

Therefore the side of the triangle = 87.5cm

Answer:

➼ Base of the triangle = 87.5 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

  • The area of a triangle is equal to that of a square.
  • Each side of square = 35 cm
  • Corresponding altitude/height of triangle = 28 cm
  • Let the length of base of the triangle be x cm

Formula used:

Area of Square = (side)² sq. unit

Area of triangle = ½ × base × height sq. unit

According to question:

Area of triangle = Area of Square

→ ½ × x × 28 = (35)²

→ 14x = 1225

→ x = 1225/14

→ x = 87.5

∴ Base of the triangle = 87.5 cm
