- Area of equilateral triangle = √3(a²)/4
- Where a is side of triangle.
- General area of triangle = 1/2*(base).(height)
- Let the side of eqilateral triangle is a
- Then bisected sides are a/2
- Height = 8 dm
- In Δ ABH
- a² = a²/2² + 8²
- a² - a²/4 = 64
- 3a²/4 = 64
- a² = 64×4/3
- a² = 256/3
- Area of equilateral triangle = √3(a²)/4
- Area of equilateral triangle = √3(256)/4×3
- Area of equilateral triangle = (64)/√3
- Area of equilateral triangle = 64√3 /3 dm²
