The area of playground is 2400 square metres.Find the cost of covering it with gravel 1.5cm thick,if the gravel cost Rs.8.50 per cubic metre.

Solution :-

Area of the playground = 2400 sq m

Thickness of the gravel = 1.5 cm

= (1.5/100) m

= 0.015 m

Now, Volume of the playground = 2400*0.015

= 36 cu m

Cost of covering the playground with gravel = Rs. 8.50 per cu m

Total cost of covering the playground with gravel = 8.50*36

= Rs. 306
