The area of rectangle is 12sq metres and its length is 3times that of its breadth. What is the perimeter of the rectangle ?

Area =12
L=3b
Lb=12
3b2=12
B2 =4
B=2m
L=3(2)=6m
Now
Perimeter =2(l +b)
=2(2+6) = 2*8 =16m

Let the breadth be x and then length will be 3x

Area of rectangle =x(3x)

Area of rectangle =3x²

12=3x²

12/3=x²

4=x²

2=x

Then breadth =2 and length is 2*3=6m

Perimeter =2(2+6)

Perimeter =2*8

Perimeter =16m
