The area of Right angled triangle is 600 cm. If the base of
the triangle exceeds the altitude by 10 cm , Find the
dimensions of the triangle.​

altitude = AB = a

base = BC = a+10

in triangle ABC,

1/2BH =ar

1/2*a*a+10 = 600cm^2

a^2 + 10a = 1200

a^2 + 10a - 1200 = 0

a^2 +40a -30a - 1200 = 0

a (a+40) - 30 (a+40) = 0

(a-30)(a+40) = 0

a=30 and a=-40

but as distance cannot be negative, so a= altitude =30cm

and base = a+10 = 40 cm
