Area of Right Angle Triangle = \frac{1}{2} × Base × Height

Let length of altitude = x cm

length of base = (x + 10) cm

Area =  \frac{1}{2} × x × (x+10)

600 =  \frac{1}{2} × x × (x+10)

1200 = x × (x+10)

x²+10x = 1200

x²+10x-1200 = 0

x²+40x-30x-1200 = 0

(x+40)(x-30) = 0

x = -40 or 30

Length should not be in negative, so x = 30

Altitude = 30 cm  and  Base = 40 cm
