The area of ring between two concentric circle is 3168 CM square find the radii of two circle if their sum is 42 cm and their difference is 28 CM

Concentric circles means their center point is same . Or you may say both are drawn from same point But radius can be different .

Given : 

Area of ring ( Area of large circle - Area of small circle ) = 3168 cm²

Let the radius of small circle(C1) be r and radius of large circle (C2) be R 

It is given that : 

R + r = 42 ____(1)

R - r  = 28 ____(2)

I think we don't need the area to find out the radius because here are two equations  1 and 2

from 2 

R = r + 28 

put it in 1 

r + 28 + r = 42 

2r = 42 - 28 

2r = 14

r = 7 cms 

R = r + 28 

R =  7 + 28 

R = 25 cms
