Given: The area of square and rectangle are equal. The side of the square is 40 cm and the breadth of the rectangle is 25 cm.

To find: Length of the rectangle and perimeter of the rectangle

Solution: Side of square = 40 cm

Area of square

= Side × Side

= 40 × 40

= 1600 cm square

Breadth of the rectangle= 25 cm

Area of rectangle

= Length × Breadth

= Length × 25

Since the area of square and rectangle are equal, therefore

Length × 25 = 1600

=> Length = 1600/25

=> Length = 64 cm

Perimeter of the rectangle is given by

= 2 × ( Length + Breadth)

= 2 × (64+25)

= 2×89

= 178 cm

Therefore, the length of the rectangle is 64 cm and the perimeter of the rectangle is 178 cm.
