side of square = 8
x = side of field along with path
x = side of field +2*width of path
y = width of path
area of path = 17 sq m
area of field along with path = 64+17 = 81 sq m

(8+2*y)^2= 81
8+2*y = √81
8+2*y = 9
2*y = 1
y = 0.5m
