Given :

  • Area of trapezium = 180 cm²
  • Height of the trapezium = 12 cm
  • One parallel side is double the other side

To Find :

  • The Length of the parallel sides = ?

Answer:

  • The two parallel sides are 10 cm and 20 cm

Explaination :

Let the two parallel sides be x and 2x.

According to Question :

➝ Area of trapezium = ½ × (Sum of parallel sides) × Height

➝ 180 = ½ × (x + 2x) × 12

➝ 180 = ½ × (3x) × 12

➝ 180 = (3x) (6)

➝ 180 = 18x

➝ x = 180/18

➝ x = 10 cm

Therefore, the Length of the parallel sides are :

  • First side = x = 10 cm
  • Second side 2x = 2(10) = 20 cm
