the area of trapezium is 198cm and it's height is 9cm. if one of the parallel sides is longer than the other by 8cm the the two parallel sides are

let one of the parallel side be x cm
other parallel side be x + 8 cm
area of trapezium=1/2 × (Sum of parallel side) × height
198=1/2×(x+ x+ 8)×9
198×2/9=2x + 8
44=2x+ 8
44-8=2x
36=2x
36/2=x
18cm=x
one parallel side=18 cm
other parallel side= 18 + 8=26 cm

Area of trapezium 1 upon 2 ( sum of its parallel sides) height
198=1 upon 2(x + x +8) 9
198 ×2÷ 9 =(x+x+8)
44=2x + 8
44÷8=2x
5.5= 2x
5.5÷2=x
