  • The lengths of its two parallel sides if one of the side is 4 cm greater than the other.

Let the first side of trapezium be x

& the other side of the triangle be (x+4 )

We know that the area of the trapezium is

➝ ½ × (sum of || sides ) × height ----(1)

We, have The area of trapezium is 475 cm² .----(2)

Comparing equation 1 & 2

½ × (sum of || sides ) × height = 475 cm²

➝ ½ × ( x + x + 4 ) × 19 = 475

➝ ½ × 2x + 4 × 19 = 475

➝ ½ × 2 × (x + 2) × 19 = 475

➝ (x + 2) × 19 = 475

➝ (x + 2) = 475 / 19

➝ (x + 2) = 25

➝ x = 25 - 2

x = 23

  • The first side of trapezium be x = 23

  • The other side of the triangle be (x+4 ) = 23 + 4 = 27.
