The given three points of  triangle are (3, - 2),(- 2, 8) and (0, 4) .

We have to find, the area of triangle is:

Solution:

We know that,

The area of triangle = \dfrac{1}{2} [x_{1}(y_{2}-y_{3})+x_{2}(y_{3}-y_{1})+x_{3}(y_{1}-y_{2})]

= \dfrac{1}{2} \times [3(8 - 4) - 2(4 + 2) + 0(- 2 - 8)] sq.units

= \dfrac{1}{2} \times [3(4) - 2(6) + 0(- 10)] sq. units

= \dfrac{1}{2} \times [12 - 12 + 0] sq. units

= \dfrac{1}{2} \times [0] sq. units

= 0 sq. units

∴ The area of triangle = 0 sq. units

Thus, the required "option c)  0 sq. units" is correct.
