Hi ,

**************************************

We know that ,

Area of the Trapezium ( A )

= [(Sum of the parallel sides)×altitude(h)]/2

******************************************

Now ,

It is given that ,

A = 1586 cm²

Sum of the parallel sides( a + b ) = 8m 60 dm

( a + b ) = 800.60 cm

h = ?

( a + b )h /2 = A

h = ( 2A )/( a + b )

h = ( 2 × 1586 )/800.60

h ≈ 3.96 cm

I hope this helps you.

Heya,

Length of one || side = 8m = 800cm

Length of another || side = 60dm

= 600cm

Let the altitude be x cm

According to Question,

1/2 × (800 + 600) × x = 1586

=> 1/2 × 1400 × x = 1586

=> 700x = 1586

=> x = 1586/700 = 793/350

∴ Altitude = x cm = 793/350 cm

Hope it helps !
