The author of the book “The Reflective Practitioner” is Donald A Schon.

In this book, Schon highlights how professionals from five different fields can work towards solving their problems and encounter challenges at their workplace at the same time. The five professions that he takes into consideration are management, town planning, engineering, psychotherapy and architecture.

The author stresses on the fact that improvisation due to practice plays a more important role in facing challenges than the formulas learnt in high school.
