Therefore, the remaining distance is (x - 1)km

According to the question question , the first kilometer is rupees 10 and the remining is rupees 8.

Thus we get, 10(1km) + 8(y-1)km = x rupees

    =  10 +8y - 8 = x

     = 2 + 8y = x This is the linear equation

Therefore, 15kilometres will be 2 + 15*8

                                         122 rupees

x=fare

altogether x = y8+2

fare for 15 kilometers=

15×8+2=122 rupees
