let the average age be x
now the sum of the age of the committee is 10x
the total age of the two men replaced=37+47=84
let the sum of the ages of the two women be y
now the total age of the committee becomes 10x-84+y
the average age becomes (10x-84+y)/10
According to question,
(10x-84+y)/10=x+2
10x-84+y=10(x+2)
10x-84+y=10x+20
solving this We get,y=104
average=104/2=52
now the sum of the age of the committee is 10x
the total age of the two men replaced=37+47=84
let the sum of the ages of the two women be y
now the total age of the committee becomes 10x-84+y
the average age becomes (10x-84+y)/10
According to question,
(10x-84+y)/10=x+2
10x-84+y=10(x+2)
10x-84+y=10x+20
solving this We get,y=104
average=104/2=52
