Let the mother's age be x

∴ father's age si x + 6 (Father is six years older than mother)

Now,

Average of 5 Children's age = 10

Average = (sum of children's age)/number of children

∴ (sum of children's age)/5 = 10

sum of children's age = 50

Now

We can see there are total 7 family members (5 children, mom, dad)

∴Average Age of whole family = (sum of family members)/7

(Mother's age + father's age + sum of 5 children's age)/7 = 22 (avg given 22)

(x + 6 + x + 50)/7 = 22

2x + 56 = 154

2x = 98

x = 49

∴Mother's present age = 49 years

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:sum of whole family age=22×7=154

Sum of childrens age=5×10=50

Present age of father and mother is

154-50=104

Father age is 6 years more than mother(104-6=98)

Now 98÷2=49
